T O P I C R E V I E WAquacheekaHaving a strong preference for certain signs when it comes to dating, to the extent that you will blacklist entire signs that do not fit the mould.Anybody been there?AquacheekaI'd like to point out that I'm open to anybody for friendship, though.hannaramaaHaha yes, I certainly have, although I give everyone a time period to connect, etc. I get nervous when I meet Leo guys though. Everybody on here knows my love/hate relationship with them (I'm an Aries). As for 'being a freak' forget labels and fitting into them. This is your life, lead it how you want. sandI don't have a list like that. I do notice I fare better with other placements. Aries mostly. That's not so crazy. That's what people r here to learn, y not put it in practice. Psweet-scorpionI don't think it's crazy. It's just taking from experiences and using them to shape your future. The one thing to watch out for is to always try to have an open mind. For example, I've had bad past experiences with Leos, but if I meet another Leo who really seems different, I won't completely write him off. It's tempting to 'blacklist' certain signs that have given me bad past experiences but you never know... right? taureau20Should have an open mind I would say. If nothing then people are not their sun sign alone. Certainly not a freak as even today I go by certain rule-set and I am forewarned when I meet a Leo or Aries and I know that maybe it is not the best idea to be roommates with them as they would like loud music and would not understand my need for privacy (I am a taurus), so yeah, that preference sort of helps but I have met with some Saggi and Aries females who were damn cool. Then again there is nothing that can beat the warm-heartedness that love from a fire-sign can make you feel. So there.. Astro keen quote:Originally posted by sweet-scorpion:I don't think it's crazy. It's tempting to 'blacklist' certain signs that have given me bad past experiences but you never know... right? ^ this~ (well, majority of my bad experiences were with aquarian men...lol)As long as you are giving everyone the chance to be your friend, or a clean slate, or maybe just giving a stranger the benefit of the doubt... that kinda thing... everyone's bound to have a preference in some area, it doesn't necessarily mean you're discriminating... I guess it's all in how you look at things! ^^;I can't not think to react immediately when hearing someone's sun is in Cancer without wanting to respond warmly, almost inappropriately at times! (I want to hug all cancers, quirkiness of having 11h Cancer, and an immediate appreciation for lunar folk).... And, likewise I can't help the odd, nervous twitch reaction upon hearing they're Scorpions, or Aquarians... lol that's just my knee-jerk response, of course! I still want to meet those people halfway though!!! Then, I'll judge them only once I see their full character... not just their chart... That's alright too~ I think... :XLotis WhiteIt’s not really freakish. Lots of people do this.As for myself, I’ve noticed that I do have certain preferences romantically… And I believe these show in my chart. I don’t ‘blacklist’ other signs though, and I am open to anybody for friendship. Rather then avoiding certain signs, it’s more like I have a sort of favoritism. I like what I like but that doesn’t mean anything bad about anybody else. Different people have different taste. I a Capricorn with Sag rising and Moon in Cancer. What I have noticed is that I’m massively attracted to Fire signs. Particularly Aries and Sagittarius, although I like Leo in certain ways as well. Fire sign Sun, Moon, Mercury, Mars, and sometimes Venus or Jupiter, people easily catch my attention. Actually, I just love Fire energy strong in a person’s chart in general. I also like a dash of Water or Air somewhere in the person’s chart… Cancer and Scorpio Moons are cute to me (They‘re like sensitive little babies that need love), and I also can quite enjoy Venus or Jupiter in Water signs. Probably thanks to my Cancer Moon in the 8th house. When it comes to Air signs, I like pretty much any planet in Air signs nicely mixed in with a Fire dominant chart and a bit of Water. I have a Gemini Dsc and like a strong intellect in a partner. I’ve noticed that I often like Venus, Jupiter or the Asc in Air signs. Planets in Aqua are fascinating to me in an ‘electric’ kind of way and I love how open and friendly they are. Gemini planets are playful and witty in a cute way that I enjoy. And Libra planets tend to make for a very considerate, easygoing sort, that would be accommodating of my weirdness, and these types tend to make me feel welcome and liked. Libra is on my 11th house cusp of love received, and popularity. I also especially love it when a guy has Mars in a Fire sign. They have a vibrancy and dashing confidence that I adore. Like they can sweep you off your feet (Swoon). The Venus sign I can be more flexible about. With the Venus sign it’s more about how she aspects my chart rather then what sign she is in. I look for certain kinds of synastry. I haven’t mentioned Earth signs. That’s because even though I certainly can like them, I don’t seem to need them the way I need Fire, Air, and Water. What I’ve noticed is that there are specific degrees in Earth signs that can appeal to me sometimes. My Sun is at 5 degrees of Capricorn and planets on or aspecting this can usually impress me. My Vertex is at 15 Taurus and my Uranus is at 15 Scorpio. Planets in feminine signs aspecting this seem to be able to magnetically pull me in. Especially in Taurus and Scorpio. I’ve found Mercury or Venus conjunct or oppose my Uranus on the Vertex Axis very attractive. So I suppose my ideal guy would be an Aries or a Sagittarius with Moon in Cancer or Scorpio. Mars in a Fire sign. And some other planets planets in Air signs in his natal, like maybe Venus, Jupiter or the Asc. Venus nicely aspecting my chart. And good Mercury synastry is key with my Gemini Dsc. I like Mercury in a Fire sign aspecting my own Sag Mercury, or Mercury conjunct or oppose my Uranus. Which brings me to my next point… I would also like something in his chart conjunct or oppose my Vertex. Venus and Mercury work well, but I’ve even seen it work with Saturn or Jupiter, or the Asc/Dsc Axis, or Mc/Ic Axis, or the Nodal Axis, along with other personal planets. The point is that ‘something’ aspecting my Vertex Axis is good.Of course, I may not get what I thought I’d get in terms of specific ‘planets in sign’ placements… Because you never know how things are really going to fit together for you in your life. What I am sure of is that that when I meet the right person, the synastry will make sense one way or another. That’s where I think it’s important to keep an open mind. Even if a person doesn’t exactly fit your formula, they might still be able to attract you in ways you hadn’t thought about. And turn out to be a really good person. hannaramaa^^ Capricorn with Sag rising, eh? I did always value what you had to say! (I'm an Aries with Mercury and Venus in Aries and Gemini ASC. The one thing that can bother me about Leos - and really all Fire signs - is not as much emotional depth if they are true Fire people... like not really reading between the lines and being very arrogant too. I'm sorry to hear you've gone through something like that with an abusive ex. Mars sq. Saturn combined with Pluto sq. Mars means A LOT of pent up anger and frustration that needs to be expressed...in a less unhealthy and raging kind of way. That makes me think of my stepdad who had a Mars-Saturn opposition and was definitely that way, the outbursts seemed even more random due to his Aqua Sun aloofness.... dadeviI feel comfortable with Leos because they're proud of who they are and aren't afraid to go after who they want.
